about the project There are few topics that evoke so many different notions and images as do farmers and agriculture. The reflecting on pictures of the farm lies at the intersection of culture, myth, art and heritage.
This book draws attention to the perception of the farmland with twenty (image) essays by art historians, culture researchers, artists, landscape architects and others. The production and perception of both art and farming are highlighted. The image descriptions are written from a multidisciplinary, rural, and sometimes historical context.
The images and articles present 'Images of Farming' from Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Britain and the United States.

about artist and participants Myvillages.org is a co-operation between three artists. Kathrin Böhm (Höfen, 1969) researches the role of art in the public and architectural space in her projects, often together with Public Works. In the 'cityscapes' of Wapke Feenstra (Wjelsryp, 1959) inhabitants or visitors participate in extensive (digital) art projects. In a related manner Antje Schiffers (Heiligendorf, 1967) reports about her encounters and travels in her (written) projects.
